Hi everyone. My name is Jake, I’m a Manager in the Cyber team, specialising in security transformation, risk assessments, and insider threat. I joined on the graduate scheme just over 5 years ago, on the non-technical stream. As well as client work, I also help out with graduate and experienced hire recruitment, our women in cyber initiative, and our security culture and awareness capability. Ask me about anything related to the Deloitte Cyber team!
Hi everyone I’m Alex and I work in the Cyber Engineering team. We’re a software development team within the Cyber practice. I joined Deloitte in September 2016 through the graduate scheme. I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about the more technical aspects of Cyber or what it’s like to join the graduate scheme.
I’m Lauren, a first year graduate in the Cyber team of Risk Advisory as part of the Leeds office. I graduated in July 2017 from the University of Leeds with a BA in Politics. So nothing to do with Cyber, ask me about the application process & the non-technical stream!
Hi Everyone, I joined as a Cyber Risk graduate in September 2016 in the Leeds office. Since then I’ve gained exposure across a variety of areas including Cyber Simulations, Third Party Security Audits as well as organising Cyber events for our clients. Recently I moved to the Defence team where I’m working on a software development project.
Hi, I am Ibrahim Awan, A student of MSc. Information Security @ RHUL, background in ICS and SCADA.
thanks you for your time
Hi, my name is Jo and I’m the Student Recruitment Advisor for Risk Advisory. If you have any questions about the recruitment or selection processes, please feel free to ask.
Hi - post-grad studying an MSc in Cyber and Human Factors, I Work in a Network Security team already. Realistic chances of obtaining a position against under grads at a reasonable/workable wage?
Currently in a silo’d position - and experience shows that no-one is willing to listen unless you have the title; how much of difference do you actually make with Deloitte?
Hi Roy. I believe would have a reasonable chance obtaining a position, we do have many people with security related masters who join the graduate scheme. As for our wages we're competitive compared to the other big 4. Career progression is also fast compared to industry.
What is the percentage of international (non UK/non-EU) employees in the company?
Thanks Alex. Open question - I’m constantly upskilling in technologies keeping up with changes, how much additional training / exam qualifications are provided at Deloitte?
Hi Roy there are many opportunities to gain qualifications. These are mostly dependent on which area of the practice you join however there are qualifications available for all parts of the practice. In some areas such as pen testing qualifications are required
Hi Roy. It's great that you are so on top of your training. Deloitte is a great place to work if you want to keep on upskilling, for example we offer qualifications such as CISSP and CISM that you can work towards after joining. A lot of the training we do depends on the capability group you are in, with the most being offered currently in Cyber Defence. The main thing is having a willingness to keep on learning, and if you think there is a course out there that will help your career, Deloitte are always willing to help you along the way.
