during the live chat The Deloitte recruitment process - your chance to ask any question about any stage
to Deloitte UK Recruitment Team
Hi Andrew, the grading system does vary depending on which service line you are applying for. This is a good questions to ask your recruiter or in interview. This will help you to get a clearer idea of expectations at the relevant role or even to understand progression. I hope this helps.
The problem is for the applicant there is no way to know which level you are applying for. I applied for a senior consultant role only to wait 2 months to be told I was over qualified and I should have applied for the manager or senior manager role.
Hi Andrew, I appreciate your frustration. I think that the challenge you face as an applicant is that you need to make a judgement on the job specification and decide whether that is the most relevant level role for you. My advice is to ask for more specific feedback following the outcome of your application at every stage of the recruitment process.
Hi Lauren, the issue is there is no one to contact until the applicant is contacted by Deloitte since there is only an automated response. In my case this took around 60 days until a telephone interview only to be told to apply for a different grade. I have done this now and have a subsequent interview, but this has meant a 3 month delay for both parties if you include the Christmas break.
Yes Andrew, this does seem like an unusual length of time to wait. In this particular case it's difficult to answer specifically, but could only assume that the recruiter was waiting for feedback on your CV and since other applications were a better fit for the role this whole process had been delayed (adding Christmas break into this too). I'm pleased to hear you have an interview and I wish you the best.
Thank you Lauren
