I was wondering about the promotion structure at Deloitte and how long it takes on average to progress though each stage and what you can realistically achieve in 5/10/15 years? The area I am particularly interested in is Risk Consulting - Audit Analytics and Controls.

I've spoken to one of my friends in Risk Consulting and he has explained a bit more about their structure below. It's in line with the Firm Wide promotion process which is based on performance and operates as a meritocracy.

In Risk Advisory you follow a similar career path to those in Audit - you will join as a Consultant and will likely remain this grade for two years and then progress to Senior Consultant for a further two years. At this point you may be ready for promotion to manager however, as with all service lines, promotions are based on performance so the above could be different. As a high performing individual in a high performing firm, after five years someone might expect to be at the manager grade, ten years at Director and fifteen at Partner

If lets say the Deloitte Brightstart scheme did not work out in 5-10 years and you have the qualifications would one then be able to transfer those skills to another job or is a degree necessary to do that?

Hi, I think that with the ACA and experience at Deloitte you wouldn't be required to have a degree as the more you progress in a career experience becomes more and more important!
