“ How to show interest in Audit/Accounting with a Law degree? ”

Anasta C. asked a question in topic Career Choices
to Holly N. Assistant Manager - Tax, Deloitte UK

I am a law student, and considering not practicing law, and rather entering a career in audit/accounting, how do you suggest I show an interest? As this is an area outside of my degree and not something I have much experience/ knowledge about.
Assistant Manager - Tax, Deloitte UK

I demonstrated an interest by choosing to tailor my module choices appropriately during my degree - i.e. I opted for honours courses such as tax law, company law and corporate insolvency law which were useful to build a good foundation knowledge. This will also provide topics of conversation for interviews, so I would recommend you consider your options throughout your degree, in addition to obtaining some financial based work experience if possible.
