The assessment day will consist of several assessments that include a group exercises, a one to one interview and a written exercise. I think the main thing with all areas is to show your enthusiasm, knowledge of the business and your commercial awareness.
A lot of this will be your research into the firm and role but it is important to show how you can communicate effectively with other candidates and our staff
Hi Savan, we have a really uselful hints and Tips guide we can share with you once you get to the assessment centres stage too - you will also have an allocated member of our team who will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and to help support you through the process
Hi Neil, thank you for this useful information. I'll make sure that I apply these skills at the assessment centre.
No trouble at all :-) Marcus and Maria may share some of their experiences during their interviews which may help too
The written exercise and group exercise are only given to you on the day, so with regards preparation beforehand we don't require you to do anything formal. My advice on these exercises is to read through everything and ensure you fully understand the task at hand, make sure you are getting involved in the group exercise and show your strengths
Hi Nicole, I have recently received an email to say that I've got through to the assessment centre, I'll make sure to read the guide as well. Thanks for the advice!
My advice would be to relax, I found that my one to one interviews were far less daunting than I imagined they would be beforehand!
No problem at all - the member of our team who is working with you on your application will send this to you! best of luck with the assessment day :)
Hi Marcus, I'll bear this in mind, but I think it is more easier said than done!
I know what you mean! But I can remember everyone I spoke to as being really friendly in the process which definitely put me at ease :)
That's good to hear :)
Id also say one thing to bear in mind is that even the person who is interviewing you has been in your position and they are not there to try and trip you up in any way - they want it to be a positive experience for you :) as long as you read through all the guidance we offer and come prepared with good examples and lots of enthusiasm you'll do great!
Its also worth saying that our assessment centres are not a competitive environment, for instance the group exercise doesnt mean all candidates are competing for one job. If all candidates meet the required stand then all candidates will progress through to the next stage :-)
Thanks everyone for all your great advice :)
Good luck with your application!
Thanks Maria :)
